The 1993-94 season was the second year Bob Knight worked with Artistic Media Partners to present the "Bob Knight Pre-game Show" and the "Bob Knight Talk Show."  The "Pre-game Show" was recorded before each Indiana basketball game shortly after Coach Knight completed his "walk through" which was the final preparation for a game.  The interviews were often conducted at courtside when Indiana played at home or at the team hotel when Indiana was on the road.  These pre-game interviews included an analysis of the team Indiana faced that day and an overview of the last game Indiana played.  the interview was then broadcast immediately prior to each game on the Indiana University Sports Radio Network.

The “Bob Knight Talk Show” was broadcast on Monday evenings during the regular season.  the shows were live, for the most part, and originated from Coach Knight's private locker room when he was in Bloomington.  When he was traveling with the team, the shows were prerecorded.  In the weekly talk show, Coach Knight talked about issues in basketball  that were of special interest to him and answered questions from listeners.

This book contains excerpts from both programs, 44 broadcasts in all.  Some of what was said on one program was repeated on the other, and the transcripts have been edited to avoid unnecessary repetition and inconsistencies in the structuring and the use of past and present tense.

There were occasional technical problems in taping the programs because the locations of the interviews did not provide studio quality recording and the microphones did not always pick up everything Coach Knight said.  Assumptions have been made to attempt to preserve the accuracy of Coach Knight's comments.  The material presented in this book is qualified in that regard.

Indiana play-by-play announcer, Don Fischer, hosted the interviews for the radio network, which is operated by Learfield Communications, Inc.  Since Don did not work directly for Artistic Media this year, we did not have the right to use his questions.  Coach Knight and I decided to use abbreviated leads into the various subjects he discussed.

Bob Knight was not interviewed specifically for this publication.  Editorial comments are based solely on my recollections of events over the past 12 years.
